General FYI for Day Hikes in the Angeles National Forest - Routes & locations could change; please confirm schedule here 48 hours prior - Hikes have easy (2 hr.), moderate (3-4 hr.) and/or strenuous (4+ hrs.) options - Plan for self-sufficiency (water, food, sunscreen, layers, sturdy boots, etc.) - Many destinations are "hidden gems" -- thanks for leaving only footprints - Pets are welcome (Forest Service requires leashes on pets at all times) - Forest Service Adventure Pass needed for parking at most trailheads - Trailhead orientation begins at 9:15am; hikes start promptly at 9:30 - Rain/snow at starting point at designated start time cancels hike - Maps/directions available here a week prior to hike (BYOMap) - Questions? Contact angeles.crest@yahoo.com for more info - Hikes are self-paced (no formal group or "sweep" of trail) |
