General FYI for Day Hikes in the Angeles National Forest - Routes & locations could change; please confirm schedule here 48 hours prior - Hikes have easy (2 hr.), moderate (3-4 hr.) and/or strenuous (4+ hrs.) options - Plan for self-sufficiency (water, food, sunscreen, layers, sturdy boots, etc.) - Many destinations are "hidden gems" -- thanks for leaving only footprints - Pets are welcome (Forest Service requires leashes on pets at all times) - Forest Service Adventure Pass needed for parking at most trailheads - Trailhead orientation begins at 9:15am; hikes start promptly at 9:30 - Rain/snow at starting point at designated start time cancels hike - Maps/directions available here a week prior to hike (BYOMap) - Questions? | Sunday Feb 21, Noon Big Ol' Hike Above Pasadena The storms have cleared out the canyons, and waterfalls are thundering everywhere. We'll do a ten-mile loop trip to some hidden gems you may not yet know about. Bring lunch, warm layers and sturdy boots. There will be boulder-hopping. Hot cocoa to follow at the cabin. Later That Same Day, 5pm -- POTLUCK DINNER & MOVIE, Above Pasadena After a long hiatus, wilderness movie night is back! Take an easy (1/2 mile) hike to a private cabin above a waterfall. We'll sit around the big stone fireplace, have more cocoa, and watch the world's biggest camp classic, John Waters' "Female Trouble." Reciting lines is enouraged. BYOB.
